[highly detailed e-mail i wrote for my dear friend -- i don't feel like retyping all that stuff, but figured it's good material to post here]
Ok... where to begin? I'll start with today and backtrack. Today was a good day. A very good day. I was on point and in step with the spirit. That's such an awesome place to exist! All day in prayer, and sorta just observing everything going on around you but just sorta finding yourself exactly where and exactly as you should be. it's a strange thing to explain unless you experience it. This morning, I started out today by going to my grandmom's church and helping her to deliver bags of food to the elderly. Then after that, I went and got my license reprinted -- normally it takes about 1~2 hours to do anything at the DMV because it's ALWAYS so crowded, but today my entire trip took only 45 minutes! God is good. I now have my license, with my class C and class M and current address on it. After that, I was led to my church's office, where they have prayer on Tuesdays around noon -- today was Tuesday and it was approaching noon, so I figured I'd join in. I got there about a half hour early, and my pastor was busy at the moment so he directed me to the conference room where the prayer meeting was gonna be so I could wait there. My church's office is in a regular downtown office building, and they share the space with some company or something like that. While I was in the conference room, I started reading a book called "Power Negotiating." It's a good read! The chapters are very short and concise, i finished about 4 chapters in 20 minutes. the striking thing is, just about all the stuff in those chapters, I was already doing or working on developing. Anywho, my pastor came in to the conference room, and there was like no one else there, so that was a good opportunity for it to be just me and him :) I haven't had a moment like that in a long while. So we got to talk, which was really good. And then we prayed for eachother. Then he went off to a meeting, and I went off to the book store to look for the book I was just reading. After I left the building, I went to a new restaurant in town called Raindrop Cafe. It's like a health food fast food place, but the food is REALLY good! It took me all of 5 minutes to place my order and get my food. Then I took my food with me to the book store, browsed around for the book briefly, and realized that I didn't know the author's name, or the exact title, so it's pretty awkward to find with no info, lol. Instead, I was lead to get an entirely different book. then I went to the park, and ate my food -- it was gooooood! <3 (that's a heart smilie, look at it sideways) It was so good that I went back to the store to compliment the lady that put it together. Then I went back to my church's office, to the conference room, and got the author and full title for the book and wrote it down. Then, on my way to the bus stop to go home, I stopped in a cell phone store to find out about a cell phone I want to buy. The guy was very open and honest about the product, and gave me some good insight about how it's not quite all it's hyped up to be, and his boss marked the price down way low just to try to get rid of it, but they don't activate it. So I'm strongly considering buying the phone from them, but I'm also considering not -- it is a lot of money up front, and that particular phone is more of a want than a need with all its features. Anywho, when i left there, i walked to the bus stop, and as soon as I got there, my bus pulled up :-D So then I came home, got changed for work, poked around at a couple things, then went right out for work. When I got there, my boss was really really pleased with the work I did the night before. I was able to throughly power wash the entire room -- and it wasn't an assigned task, and i got all my assigned tasks done well too. So since I did such a good job the night before, I had very little work to do tonight, so I got that done, then started reading the new book I got. Then that lead to me having a really good conversation with Gerald, who basically was some guy at work that I never interacted with before. Over the past few days, and specifically just hours before then, I had been praying for openings and opportunities to share the gospel with people. I'm in a really great position at work, where everyone likes me, so I'm praying that God uses that for his glory. And conversations and interactions are starting to open up. :-D My walk home, I was just so filled with joy. And a neat little side effect is that, I kept up one pace as I walked home, and every corner I got to was a green light for me. And as I've been home, I've just been so full of energy, and I accomplished soooooo much stuff tonight, even before starting writing this e-mail to you. I went online and purchased that power negotiating book, and applied for an amazon credit card, I sent an e-mail to raindrop cafe to place a formal compliment to the people that worked there, and a host of other things. and now i'm starting to run low on energy and feel tired for the night.
I'll have to send you another volume of the novel to tell you about this girl that I'm pursuing. ^_^ and there are so many details that i left out, lol. I'll try to get to it tomorrow :)
